Ron Mueck
May 18, 2010Shrinking the human species will be a complicated matter. Presumably not all people would shrink at the same speed, and older generations would be larger than younger ones. The sculptures of Australian artist Ron Mueck shed an interesting light on things to come. He creates hyperrealistic sculptures of very large as well as very small size. One half of his work dwarfs you, while the other half makes you feel like a giant. Mueck creates an unusual emotional preview of a possible future. They are exercises in embracing an alternative future.
